Madras Curry Chickpeas

 Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Chickpeas
  • 1 Tsp Ginger Garlic Purée
  • 1 Large Red Onion, Chopped
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
  • 2 Tsp Madras Curry Powder
  • 1 ½ Tsp Salt
  • 3 Green Chili
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 3 Tbsp Fresh Coriander, Chopped
  • 3 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • Juice of Half a Lemon

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, Add onions and fry on medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Add Ginger/Garlic paste, fry 1-2 minutes until raw smell evaporates.
  3. Add Cumin powder, Turmeric powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, Madras curry powder, Salt and ¼ Water and mix with sauteed onions.
  4. Add chickpeas and mix with the onion masala paste.
  5. Cover pan with a lid for 5-10 minutes and cook.
  6. Uncover pan and stir chickpeas.
  7. Squeeze juice of half a lemon.
  8. Add fresh chopped coriander leaves.
  9. Serve Hot.
  10. Enjoy!
